Faculty of Agriculture – University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Cluj-Napoca

 

The Faculty of Agriculture as a collaborator in the project Practices on the ground! is contributing to an important component of this project through the research activity. The research activity is conducted with the support of 10 students selected from the student body together with a pedology expert and an environment expert practician. The result of this activity is a research report which will gather aspects connected to good practices in the protection and preservation of the soil quality, technical aspects, legislation, responsibilities of national and local authorities, European directives in the field, etc.

 

The Faculty of Agriculture from Cluj-Napoca was started in 1869 having over 150 years of activity in the education and training of young farmers. The Faculty of Agriculture is an integrated part of the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Cluj-Napoca, offering a series of education programs for Bachelor, Master’s and PHD certification.

Amongst de study programmes offered by the Faculty of Agriculture we mention: Agriculture, Montanology, Exploitation of machines and agriculture installations and food industry, Biology, Environmental Engineering, Pedology and Engineering and environment protection in agriculture.

 

The Faculty of Agriculture has a long tradition in this field. It has become a centre of education and research representative for our country, with specialists trained here being recognised as agronomists and people of the citadel, no matter where they operate. The future of the Faculty is connected with the implementation of a European curriculum for the agricultural education, with maintaining a high level of the educational process and with anchoring this process in the requirements of modern agriculture.
